Attorney Gregory D. Murray is a founding shareholder of Anderson & Kent, S.C., and his practice focuses on municipal law. Over the past 10 years, he has served as general and special counsel to towns, villages, specialized and intergovernmental commissions, sanitary districts, electric utilities, specialized municipal departments, and municipal public utilities throughout Dane, Iowa and Sauk Counties. Mr. Murray’s work has involved a broad range of municipal topics including: drafting general ordinances and resolutions; administrative hearings; alcohol licensing and revocations; annexation disputes; building permit approval and disputes; comprehensive and smart growth plan preparation and adoption; easement acquisitions and disputes; eminent domain and condemnations; general contracts and inter-municipal agreements; land division approvals and developer’s agreements; land purchases and sales; non-unionized employment issues; open meetings, public records and municipal ethics laws; ordinance enforcement proceedings; razing public nuisance buildings; road and public way vacations and abandonment; urban service area extensions; utility matters and service fees; and zoning ordinance drafting, approvals and appeals. Additionally, Mr. Murray manages the municipal prosecution and court matters for six Dane and Iowa County municipalities. Mr. Murray also works in the areas of public utility law, residential and commercial real estate, and estate planning.
