Attorney Alan G. B. Kim, Jr.'s practice includes construction, environmental, and commercial and land use litigation matters. Mr. Kim's clients for whom he advocates include municipalities, utilities and other public bodies, businesses and individuals. Mr. Kim's experience includes construction project planning and contract drafting and negotiation as well as the prosecution and defense of construction claims. Mr. Kim also represents design professionals and their firms in the defense of professional liability claims. Mr. Kim also represents municipalities, utilities and other public bodies involved with landfill and contaminated land issues, including federal and state cost recovery actions seeking contribution for the costs to investigate and remediate polluted land and groundwater. Another significant portion of Mr. Kim's practice is devoted to insurance defense, products liability, commercial and land use litigation for Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Kim is a frequent speaker, author and guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Engineering and Madison Area Technical College. Mr. Kim graduated from Marquette University with a B.A. in literature and minors in business and theology. Mr. Kim received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1991.
Mr. Kim is admitted to practice in all of the courts of the state of Wisconsin, as well as the 6th and 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eastern District of Michigan, and the D.C. District Court. Mr. Kim's practice also includes significant experience within, and the use of, alternative dispute resolution forums in lieu of formal litigation, such as mediation and arbitration.
